Most customer service strategies strive for forgettability. The idea is to deliver such a smooth transaction that it does not leave a bad memory: the interaction happens and then life goes on as normal. While this technique is a considered an industry standard, there's a reason why Chick-fil-A is consistently rated highly for its customer service.
The video, which has been viewed more than 150,000 times, has made Murrill a local celebrity. What sets this employee's service apart from the rest? He makes each and every one of the people he speaks to feel special. Unlike the ordinary fast food transaction that's extremely dry and curt, Murrill takes his time to ensure he's taking orders accurately, not forgetting anything the customer may have overlooked, and purposely trying to add sunshine to his customers' days.
'Your actions or behavior or the way you say something and interact with people matters, and it transforms a day,' says Murrill, who works with his siblings at the restaurant and was honored by the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office for his kindness.
When was the last time an employee made you smile?
